Brief biography

My current research is targeted at understanding 1) important health and vascular function declines associated with advancing age and peripheral artery disease; 2) the potential mechanisms behind these changes; and 3) the ability of therapeutics (exercise / dietary nitrate) to improve physiological function. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how dietary nitrate, passive stretching, and exercise training can improve vascular responsiveness, blood flow, and endothelial cell health. Our laboratory uses integrated cardiovascular techniques to investigate mechanisms driving cardiovascular dysfunction.
