Brief biography

I was born in Arlington Heights, IL, which is a suburb of the city of Chicago. I started my undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University in the fall of 2012 with a Pre-Pharmacy major. After taking (and falling in love with) organic chemistry, I switched my major to Chemistry and decided to go to graduate school. After graduating with my B.S. in chemistry, I attended Florida State University, joining the research group of Dr. Lei Zhu. My research involved the design, synthesis, and analysis of organic fluorophores capable of excitation-dependent multiple emission. I graduated with my PhD in the spring of 2022.

Career

Teaching history

I am new to UWL, so the "current courses" are the only ones I've taught here. I was a TA for all six years of graduate school at Florida State University and taught several versions of organic chemistry lecture, organic chemistry lab, and general chemistry lab.
