Profile for Krista Shulka

Brief biography

Krista has been the Academic Department Associate for the Department of Theatre Arts for over 17 years, and has been a part of the UW-L campus since she was a freshmen student in 1988. Krista received in Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work in 1993 and has worked at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare and Chileda as well as various departments on the UW-L campus including English, Disability Resources, Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Women's Studies. Aside from running the academic needs of the Theatre Department, Krista is also the box office manager and is responsible for publicity, student recruitment, event planning, webpage design/maintenance, and so much more. Krista has long been active on campus with the Program Associate Professional Development (PAPD) committee in which she served as coordinator for over 10 years, Organization for Campus Women, and Classified Staff Council. She was recognized for her contributions with the YWCA Woman of the Year--Arts Administration category--in 2011. Krista strives to make the greatest contributions to the department and to make every student feel welcomed, appreciated, and supported.
