Brief biography

Laurie is chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance where she heads the Stage Management and Arts Administration emphases, teaches dramaturgy, and serves as the Production Manager for all shows. She came to UWL from the University of Arizona and has worked professionally in theatre, dance and opera. She is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, the Stage Managers Association, the Association for Arts Administration Educators, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, and Actors' Equity Association. Laurie is the author of The Stage Manager's Toolkit, published by Routledge Press.

Nic Barilar, Michelle Collyar, Jesse Curvin, Ashley Dobrogosz, David Harlan, Laurie Kincman, Amanda Kolbe, Nate Mohlman, Kathryn Moran, Gregory Parmeter and Anna Wooden, all Theatre & Dance, presented "Cabaret" as the final production in the 2024-2025 season on April 25 in La Crosse. The production, directed by Nic Barilar, featured the work of Musical Director Kathryn Moran; Choreographer Ashley Dobrogosz; Scenic Designer Mandy Kolbe; Technical Director Nate Mohlman; Costume Designer Anna Wooden; Sound Designer & Engineer David Harlan; Projections Designer Laurie Kincman; Fight Director Greg Parmeter; Scene Shop Supervisor Dylan Curvin; and Costume Shop Supervisor Michelle Collyar. The creative team also included students Sage Goetsch, stage manager; Avery Weston, dramaturg; Ozzy Glazer, props designer; Connor Pangburn, sound designer; and Alumna Tracy Joe, lighting designer. It ran April 25-May 4, 2025 in Toland Theatre.

Laurie Kincman, Theatre & Dance, authored the book "The Stage Manager's Toolkit", published on Nov. 27 by Routledge Press. The fourth edition of this book includes case studies that highlight productions in the Department of Theatre & Dance and has a companion website for educators.

Michelle Collyar, Laurie Kincman, Amanda Kolbe, Gregory Parmeter and Anna Wooden, all Theatre & Dance, presented "What the Constitution Means to Me" as part of the 2024-2025 season on Nov. 14 in Frederick Theatre. The production, directed by Greg Parmeter, featured the work of Mandy Kolbe, lighting design; Anna Wooden and Michelle Collyar, costume design; and Laurie Kincman, dramaturgy; along with the work of students Amber Meyers, scenic design; Coleman Breedlove, sound design; and River Podjasek, technical direction. It ran Nov. 14-17, 2024.

Michelle Collyar, Ashley Dobrogosz, Laurie Kincman and Amanda Kolbe, all Theatre & Dance, presented "Art in Motion" at Toland Theatre on Feb. 16 in the department's inaugural dance concert. Theatre & Dance students Brodyn Byington, Katie Krueger, Amber Meyers, Julia Maynard, Sage Goetsch, Ellie Burns, Coleman Breedlove, Avery Weston and Anna Montgomery joined 24 student dancers for the three-performance run of this new part of the Theatre & Dance season.
