Brief biography
Hello!
I am the new Academic Department Associate for Public Health & Community Health Education! Prior to my time here at UWL, I worked as a unit administrator at the Mayo Clinic, a juvenile detention worker at the La Crosse County Juvenile Detention Facility, an overnight shelter worker for the Winona Community Warming Center, and I've worked many jobs in coffee shops and restaurants. I have interned at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Family & Children's Center, and the Mayo Clinic. I am most interested in sexual health education, criminal justice, politics, public policy, adult and continuing education, health communications and health literacy, and community building and outreach.
After I complete my MPH here at UWL, I plan to teach either at a university or non-profit, providing sexual health education to adolescents and adults. Since I am interested in health communication, I use social media a lot to help disseminate information and resources to my friends, family, and those in my community. I try my best to be the "resource person" because it truly takes a village or community for people to become the best versions of themselves.
My office (416B Wimberly) is open during business hours for students, faculty, and staff to stop by and say hi or ask me any questions.
