Brief biography
Noona Xiong (she/her/hers) is the youngest daughter born to Hmong refugees. She is a first generation college student and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Human Services and Leadership, with a minor in Asian Studies. Before returning back to school she did volunteer work with HMoob non-profits like Cia Siab, Inc. and grassroot projects such as the Traveling Exhibit: Cia Siab in Wisconsin. She returned to her studies through the Student Affairs Administration program at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and recently graduated in May of 2024. As an emerging Student Affairs Practitioner, Noona is passionate about diversity and equity efforts. She utilizes her own experiences and believes in the power of story telling. As a retention specialist she continues to advocate for creating a sense of belonging for marginalized student populations and fostering space for diverse learning.
