Brief biography

Originally from Central India, I am a trained architect and an urban GIS specialist. I have been inspired to study how changes in built environments (such as rapid construction) can transform places since I was a teenager. This interest became the common thread in my transdisciplinary academic journey through Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Studies, and of course, Geography.

Aside from teaching at UWL, I also defended my doctoral dissertation investigating the role of transportation development in land transformation in Delhi’s metropolitan region.

I have previously worked as an analyst researching historical records and the land vacancy database for the Philadelphia Landbank and socio-cultural community issues at the University of Pennsylvania.

When not teaching or doing research, I explore the world around me with visual arts, photography, and food. Sometimes, I also like to create fun maps with data.
