Connect Fo(u)r

A page within Staff Mentoring Program

Connect Fo(U)r

Purpose: Cultivate personal and professional enrichment for new and existing employees at UWL. Individuals will connect with three others over a shared interest and as a cohort/group/teams will have the opportunity to participate/engage in four activities connecting YO(U) to the community, campus, and professional/personal self. Connect Fo(U)r is based on your groups schedule, interests, and comfort! You get to choose what activities align best for you.

  • The more activities your team engages in, the bigger the chance your team has to win a prize at the end of the semester.

What is Connect Fo(U)r?

Connect four is an extension of the staff mentor program meant to cultivate personal and professional opportunities for new and existing experiences at UWL. Connect Fo(U)r is a playful spin on an old game that CONNECTS you, the university, and your peers.

Using the signup genius (LINKED BELOW) individuals are encouraged to create groups of four based on similar interests or out of spontaneity. Groups will be encouraged to connect through four different activities by the end of the end of year celebration May 15th 2024. Groups can engage with activities offered through the calendars OR through whatever links your groups together.

When groups engage in four activities, each member will be entered into a prize drawing at the end of year celebration. Monthly reminders will be sent out to nudge folks who may be disconnected or who may need a boost to connect.

Groups

  • Groups are self-selected and encouraged to have no more than two people from the same department in each group.
  • The motivation through this is to group folks based on their levels of interest they may share.
  • With your group we want you to engage and connect with one another through four decided activities agreed upon by the group.
  • For guidance, the four recommended areas of connections can be Community, Campus, Professional, and Personal. Groups are encouraged to decide what four activities best fit their group.
  • Groups will be notified when you have connected four.
  • Groups define the interactions and activities they choose to do through each of them.
  • With new hires possibly arriving to UWL there is an optional 5th member that may join groups based on interest.

You get in what you put out of the four activities you choose to do.

  • Initial group reviews by March 1st
