Student employees being (incorrectly) terminated

Between 60-100 student employees

A conflict between contract and appointment end dates for student hourly workers who worked during the summer caused Workday to automatically terminate their employment. We are working with UWSS to rescind termination actions and restore employment.

Pay slip YTD hours are inconsistent with the current pay period and do not reflect hours from previous (HRS) system. All other YTD calculations are accurate. All Being Worked 7/21 Although the paycheck earnings and deduction details are correct, the year-to-date hours calculation is incomplete. A resolution to address this issue is currently under review.
Pay was rejected by Credit Union bank. 3 Resolved 7/31 The bank resolved this matter manually and completed the payment. This was necessary because the bank updated its routing information during our transition.
Benefits deduction mistakenly taken from 9-month compensation basis 128 Resolved 7/31 The credit was included in the second payroll (8/7). The issue was due to a configuration during the transition.
WDC/Empower deposits due 7/24 delayed.

Note: Payroll was correct; this was the contributions not being deposited by WDC.
34 Resolved 7/29 WDC made an error during the transition: employee deposits were posted to WDC accounts on 7/29/2025 instead of the expected 7/24/2025. Accounts will be adjusted to reflect the 7/24/2025 stock market closing prices.
WRS deductions were not taken for a small group of employees which were not recognized as eligible for WRS. 45 (20 of these people also had a prepay issue) Resolved 7/25 For most employees, there is no ambiguity about whether a position is WRS eligible. For a smaller group of employees, that eligibility depends on the duration of a position and other variable factors. A subset of this group was not properly recognized as WRS eligible and thus the deduction was not taken. This was corrected and the deduction occurred on the 8/7/25 payroll.
Time submitted before the correction to their correct supervisor was made causing supervisor approval issues Unknown, but addressed manually to make payment. Resolved 7/15 UW-Shared Services handled these manually, ensuring employees received payment.
