  • The number of students admitted to the major is dependent on the number of clinical internship sites and their student capacity.
  • Affiliation agreements with clinical sites require that the sites commit to complete the training of students accepted into the major and are renewed each year by Feb. 15; prior to student selection.
  • Admission to the major is on a competitive basis.  Students are advised to apply for admission to the professional program late in the fall semester of their sophomore year after having taken or registered for the pre-professional requirements.  It is, however, appropriate to apply as a junior.
  • Applicants are advised to have taken or registered for their general education requirements by the time of application.  All general education requirements would need to be fulfilled prior to starting the program classes in the fall.
  • Applicants are required to have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and a grade of "C" or better in all post-secondary (college level) courses.
  • Applicants are also required to have a minimum Pre-Professional GPA of 2.75.
  • All applicants are required to complete all seven online observation modules.  Upon finishing each module applicants will submit a reflection assignment.  Applicants are encouraged to successfully complete 10 hours of observation in a radiation oncology department; two different clinical sites are preferred.  Students are encouraged to plan their visits over the summer and spring break.  Some sites may require that the student have had a set of immunizations prior to the visit to comply with hospital policy.  It may be beneficial to visit more than one site.
  • Applicants are considered without regard to sex, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, disability, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital or parental status.
  • Applications must be submitted in full by the deadline published on the program's website.
