Reclaiming the Wisconsin Idea

UAPUWL (United Academic Professionals of UWL) is hosting a program on the Wisconsin Idea.

The Wisconsin Idea is currently referenced in various UWL planning and mission statements, such as the UWL Values Statement guiding our universtiy-wide strategic planningThe College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities Strategic Plan , and the current draft (not yet adopted) of our revised General Education Program Mission Statement.

This program will provide information about the Wisconsin Idea (how it began and what exactly it is) and will showcase some of the ways that UWL works toward the goals of the  Wisconsin Idea through partnerships with regional and local stakeholders. Presenters will be Mike Kiefer, Jail Program Coordinator, La Crosse County Sheriff's Office; Patricia Stovey, Assistant Professor of History, UWL; Tiffany Trimmer, Assistant Professor of History and Director UWL Oral History Program; and Jonathan E. Zinniel, Director of Staff Development, Chileda

This program is free and open to the public.
