Track community engagement in Faculty Success
A page within Instructors
There are multiple ways to document Community Engaged Learning (CEL) and community service activities in Faculty Success (e-Portfolio). Below is a list and explanation of each form of documentation. Faculty should document each CEL course and service activity in each of these ways for the purposes of retention, tenure and promotion.
Community service
Professional and Community Service Activities can be entered under Service. When logged in to Faculty Success, go to “Add Activity” and select Professional and Community Service under the section for Service activities. In the data entry screen, select the service type of Public/Community and enter details of the community engagement activity you wish to document.
Personnel review/promotion materials management for teaching
When logged in to Faculty Success, go to “My Profile” and find either the Retention / Tenure and/or Merit Review section or the Promotion section, depending on which review process is relevant for you.
If an entry for the relevant academic year does not exist under that section in the profile, add a new entry for that academic year. Each academic year that you are going up for retention review, tenure, and/or promotion should have only one entry. If an entry already exists for the correct academic year, select that entry to edit the content.
In the data entry form, you can describe your Community Engaged Learning efforts in the classroom and upload supporting documentation as a Teaching Appendix that will be linked in your Personnel Report.
Personnel review/promotion materials management for service
