Assessing Student Learning Outcomes associated with Community Engaged Learning

  • Instructors are welcome to conduct their own assessment on the student learning outcomes (SLO) associated with a CEL designated course.  For undergraduate instructors, one or more of the Eagle Advantage competencies should serve as the SLO to be measured.
  • A sample rubric for use is available from UW Parkside.
  • Ranked faculty are encouraged to engage in the direct assessment of student learning to include in promotion portfolios.
  • The Community Engagement Coordinator would appreciate samples and/or copies of any assessment conducted.
  • The Community Engagement Coordinator will assess instructor and community partner perceptions of the CEL course outcomes at the end of each semester.
