Welcome!
If you have already connected with your local Workforce Development officer and determined that the Nursing Home Administration Certificate would benefit your career goals, you can skip ahead to Step 3 below.
If this is your first time learning about the Nursing Home Administration Certificate funding opportunity, please start with Step 1 to begin the process.
Step 1: Contact Your Local Workforce Development Office
There are several federally funded initiatives available to individuals seeking to enhance their skills. Please visit the Wisconsin Directory of Workforce Services to connect with an experienced representative in your county. They can help determine your eligibility and guide you in selecting the most appropriate program.
Step 2: Confirm that the Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate is the Program That Meets Your Needs
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse offers a 100% online Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate, which equips you with the knowledge and skills to lead in the growing field of long-term care.
The Nursing Home Administration program options are listed on the Eligible Training Program List:
- Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate – Complete in Approximately 30 Weeks
- Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate - Complete in Approximately 60 Weeks
You will need to connect with your Workforce Development representative to confirm your eligibility and determine whether the Nursing Home Administration Certificate aligns with your goals.
Step 3: Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate Program Application and Acceptance
You will need to apply to and be accepted into the Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate program before being able to request WIOA funding.
Please contact Ania Meier at ameier@uwlax.edu with questions about the application process, or if you have not yet heard back regarding your program application status.
Step 4: Complete the UW-La Crosse ETPL Enrollment Request Form
After being accepted into the program, you are eligible to apply for WIOA funding.
At least four weeks before your planned enrollment date, and after being accepted into the program, please submit the UW-La Crosse enrollment request form and select “I would like to start the enrollment process.”
WIOA funding must be approved before you can go ahead and enroll in classes.
Step 5: Receive Required Documentation from UW-La Crosse
Within five business days of submitting your enrollment request form, you will receive the following documents:
- EdPlan (containing general program information)
- Letter of intent
- Invoice
Once you receive these documents, please review them and share them with your career planner to complete your WIOA funding approval process.
If anything else is needed to obtain approval, please contact us at ex@uwlax.edu.
Step 6: Funding Authorization & Enrollment Processing
Once approved, your Workforce Development representative (career planner) will send the signed service authorization/ITA/voucher to UW-La Crosse and you are now able to enroll in courses.
After UW-La Crosse receives your official funding approval (service authorization/ITA/voucher) your program Success Coach will connect with you to assist with enrolling in your graduate certificate courses.
Please contact Ania Meier at ameier@uwlax.edu if you have questions about getting enrolled in your graduate certificate course(s).
