Why Earn An Athletic Training Master's Degree At UWL?

We Focus On Your Master's Education

The Department of Exercise and Sport Science houses the athletic training program and values diversity in our faculty and student body. We are engaged in sincere efforts to be a leader in Wisconsin’s movement toward increased diversity and inclusiveness. The Athletic Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Our undergraduate program was fully phased out in May 2020.

The athletic training program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse  was the first accredited athletic training program in the state of Wisconsin, and offers one of the most competitive, in-depth and  hands-on athletic training programs in the country. The athletic training program has gained an excellent reputation for involving their athletic training students in various year-round athletic training opportunities.

Over the last three years, our student's:

  • First time pass rate on the BOC Examination is 92%
  • Overall pass rate is 100%
  • Job placement (within 6 months of graduation) is 100%

The UWL Athletic Training Graduate Program can be completed in 2 years following completion of an undergraduate degree, or by completing the Dual Degree program which combines an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and the Master's Degree in Athletic Training in a total of 5 years.
