Athletic Training

Accelerated graduate program

Complete your undergraduate and master's degrees in just 5 years!

Completing the accelerated graduate program in Exercise Science and Athletic Training is a great opportunity for highly motivated students.

Our accelerated graduate program enables students to complete two degrees: a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Exercise Science, Pre-Professional Track, and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from UW-La Crosse.

Our accelerated graduate program students spend less time in school and pay less tuition, because they are completing in five years what would typically take six years if the degrees were completed separately. A total of 25 credits count towards both degrees.

Admission to the accelerated graduate program

The Exercise and Sport Science: Kinesiology Emphasis (BS) does not have an admission process, but application to the Athletic Training (MS) graduate grogram is required.

Declaring the undergraduate major

Students may declare the Accelerated Graduate Program in ESS: Kinesiology Emphasis (BS) and Athletic Training (MS) major with a minimum resident cumulative GPA of 3.0. The student must maintain a minimum resident cumulative GPA and major GPA of 3.0 to be retained in the program and to graduate with the undergraduate BS degree.

Applying to the graduate program

Students are selected into the Athletic Training Graduate Program through a competitive application process. Check out the Application process webpage and the Graduate Catalog for more information.

You can also contact Graduate Program Director Dr. Cordial Gillette with any questions!
