Students will create a Capstone Project as part of the SAA 790 Capstone course.  

General Guidelines for the Capstone Project

The Capstone Project consists of two primary phases:
(1) an academic/scholarly paper which explores an existing issue or concern in student affairs in higher education, and
(2) an intervention/proposal which attempts to make progress on that issue/concern in a specific institutional context.

Capstone projects will:

  • be completed in collaboration with a student affairs program/office/unit on a specific campus,
  • have practical application to a student affairs area in a higher education setting,
  • be shared at the SAA Capstone event at UWL and/or UWRF.

While complete projects are lengthy papers, students condense their work into panel, poster, or individual presentations to share with a broader audience. To learn more about the work of our recent alumni, please review:
