Theadora Ranis
- Residence Hall Director | University of Wisconsin Eau Claire
- Student Affairs Administration
After experiencing burnout in my undergraduate career, UWL helped me rediscover my passion for working with college students. During my time at UWL, I worked as a Resident Assistant for 2.5 years and continued my work in Residence Life through my virtual graduate school experience. I am grateful to be a "double alum" from the UW-La Crosse!

The SAA Master's program allowed me to get into student affairs and made me a better professional, mentor, and scholar. I routinely reference back to the concepts I learned about in the master's degree in my current role as I build opportunities for student experiential learning.
Andrew Ives, SAAL Ed.D., Dissertation of the Year awardee.
With the dissertation, I had an incredible amount of support from the Student Affairs Administration and Leadership program, especially my Dissertation Chair Becki Elkins. All the faculty were great, and they had opportunities to read, edit and provide feedback.

I've been incredibly grateful to the professors and my peers in the program. I attribute much of my success to all of them. My professors will tell me I always had it in me, but they were instrumental in my ability to find my passion and voice through research.
