FACULTY/STAFF:  The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse foreign nationals in tenure-track faculty positions with an employment-based work authorization visa (H-1B). UWL works in partnership with UW-Madison's International Faculty & Staff Services to support these work authorization visas. Please refer to the UW-Madison Human Resources website for further information. 

  • Please Note:  UWL International Education & Engagement is only legally allowed to provide visa support other than F & J categories.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse sponsors foreign nationals in tenure-track faculty positions for their employment based work authorization visa (H-1B) and employment based immigrant petition (I-140). UWL works in partnership with UW-Madison's International Faculty & Staff Services to support these work authorization visas.   • IFSS has partnered with Immigrant Justice Center (IJC) at the UW Law School to create the Immigration Legal Support Office (ILSO) to support our employees and their immigration needs. ILSO can help employees and their families prepare the I-485s (final step in the permanent residency process), I-539s (change of status petitions), I-765 (work authorization) just to name a few items. They are welcome to reach out to ILSO for free legal services. We will provide ILSO’s contact information when employees are ready to complete the final step in the university-sponsored permanent residency process.
