Will the event be streamed? expanding section

While we are hoping to provide streaming options for future events, we are unable to provide this option for 2022. We welcome attendees to take pictures and/or videos throughout the event.

Are there other graduation events? Which ones should I attend? expanding section

There are three graduation events held in May: the SAA graduation ceremony, Graduate and Extended Learning graduation ceremony, and the university commencement ceremony.

The SAA graduation ceremony is where students will receive their academic hood.

The university commencement ceremony is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at UWL. While students won't receive their hood at this ceremony, this event provides students an opportunity to walk across the event stage and have a professional photo taken of them. For COVID guidelines and safety, UWL has split their commencement into 3 smaller ceremonies. SAA graduates should attend the 3:30 PM event held for CBA undergraduates and graduate students from all colleges. You can find more information about the event on the university commencement website.

The Graduate and Extended Learning ceremony is held for smaller programs that do not host their own hooding ceremony. Since SAA does provide a ceremony, SAA students are not encouraged to attend this event to provide space for students in other programs.

Is parking free? expanding section

Yes. Attendees can park in any parking lot for the graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at no cost.

The SAA department will provide two parking vouchers to each M.S.Ed. student attending the poster presentation on Friday, May 13. If additional parking vouchers are needed, please contact Hanna Dovalina (
