Welcome
Please be aware that due to the heavy construction occurring in our hallway; our in-office hours will be limited while at the WING building. As always, email us at uwlveted@uwlax.edu with your documentation and be sure to keep your name intact on the documents while blacking out all other personally identifiable information.
- We will be in office on Tues, Weds, Thurs from 8am through 4:30pm. Prior communication would be advised in the likelihood we are elsewhere at a meeting, event, or otherwise momentarily out of the office.
The UWL Veteran & Military Connection aims to help student veterans and military-connected students to link the benefits they've garnered from the VA to their UWL account. The office also facilitates the transition to university life by supporting student veterans and military-connected students.
What we do:
- We take the benefits you've gained and connect them to UWL
- We certify your credits to the VA for payment
- We Advocate for veteran & military-connected issues on campus
- We Connect veteran and military-connected students with resources
- Register earlier with Priority Registration for Veterans
What you need to do:
- Connect with Federal and/or WI State VA to find your eligibility:

--> Register/Login --> Verify Email --> Eligibility Matrix button at top. Once submitted, you're looking to receive the 2031 form to send to us. We will send you a 2029 application form to fill out and send back. - Send your Certificate of Eligibility documents to uwlveted@uwlax.edu
- Enrollment Certification of Federal VA Benefits to UWL - this must be done by the student prior to every semester interested in using Federal VA Benefits. Click the "Cert Request" link below:
Federal Education Benefits
Post 9/11 GI Bill®, Veteran Readiness & Employment, Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty®, Montgomery GI Bill-Select Reserve®, or Dependents Education Assistance. A cert request provides the student permission to certify their credits to the VA.
Submit a Cert Request for each semester you want to use your benefits.
Early Refund Requests
Student veterans using Post 9/11 GI Bill® or Veterans Readiness & Employment may request an early release of financial aid monies. An early refund is a release of financial aid while the VA payment is pending.
Title 38 United States Code Section 3679 School Compliance
In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e}, this school adopts the following additional provisions for any current students presently using U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs {VA} Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA.
Up to 90 days after the start of a term, for students who have garnered and provided authentic chapter 31 or 33 certification of eligibility and have submitted a certification request; this school will not:
- Prevent the student’s enrollment;
- Assess a late penalty fee to;
- Require student secure alternative or additional funding;
- Deny their access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities} available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution.
