We’re seeking your support for Innovation Generation – the student entrepreneurship program at UW-La Crosse with activities for three age groups: 1) UWL Innovation Lab – collegiate level; 2) Coulee Ventures – high school level; 3) First Ventures – middle school level. Our goal is to ignite and support the entrepreneurial interests of our Coulee Region youth. Together with the UWL SBDC, we developed these programs and will oversee their implementation from January through May of 2019.
UWL Innovation Lab
Working in teams, or individually, students explore the exciting and challenging world of entrepreneurship, using a combination of instruction, innovation labs, field studies, and mentors. At the culmination of the program, student teams from the collegiate level will showcase their business ideas at the UWL Eagle’s Eye Business Competition in which judges will scrutinize the ideas and select those that demonstrate the necessary vision and potential for success. The high school and middle school students will have their own innovation activites. Coulee Ventures is for high school students, and the First Ventures business fair is for middle school students.
You can help to support these programs in a variety of ways:
Financial Support
Your support is needed to fund event production expenses and provide financial support for top teams to help further their business ideas. Corporate support programs are available.
In-kind Support
To further support participating students in realizing their business ideas, you can increase the value of the awards given by donating technical and support services. These could include professional services (legal, accounting, marketing, IT) and technical services (equipment, office space, web hosting, internet service) and food (e.g. pizza delivery for monthly meetings)!
Donated Awards
To recognize more student particpants, your donation of products and merchandise will create even more excitement. These items could include tablets, office supplies, gift cards, and more.
Mentorship Support
We're seeking additional business mentorship support for one or more business teams.
