## Brief biography

I am a native of the east coast, so moving to Wisconsin was quite an adjustment. I originally started off life as a software engineer, after receiving my B.S. in Computer Science in 1994 from the University of Virginia, I worked as a software engineer for 9 years in the Washington D.C. area.

While working, and to prepare for graduate school in math, I received a B.S. in Mathematics in 2003 from George Mason University. After that, I received an M.S. in Mathematics in 2006 again from the University of Virginia. In 2009, I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from George Mason University. (Yes, it's like a tennis match... back and forth between the two schools.)

When not working on mathematics, you might find me experimenting new recipes (I love to cook) or playing video games. I am taking piano lessons, so you may also find me at the Center for the Arts building plunking away at the keys.
