The UWL Student Association, UWL Administration, and MTU worked together to bring UW-La Crosse students and employees the U-PASS program. The Program has two parts: daily unlimited, fare free passage on all MTU bus routes and the Safe Ride - a safe ride between downtown and campus during evening hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The Safe Ride began with the Fall 2000-01 Semester and the daily fare free MTU service for students kicked off with the Spring 2000-01 Semester. The MTU bus service was expanded to include faculty and staff in September 2001.
From the fall of 2000 through 2015, MTU buses have provided over 2,193,390 for students!
The UW-La Crosse U-PASS program for students is provided by your Student Association and includes unlimited access to any Municipal Transit Utility (MTU) bus -anytime, anywhere! Just show your UWL Student I.D. card to the bus driver and you're ready to go anywhere you like. The cost of the program is included in your student fees. Any non-UWL student can ride at regular fare.
Effective September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016 UWL bus passes are $75 per year. Employees can take advantage of pre-tax payroll deduction and elect two payments of $37.50. Complete the U-PASS Payment Authorization Form, print and sign the form, and take it to the Cashier's Office, 121 Graff Main Hall, to receive your UWL bus pass. Questions about the program can be sent to Vickie Baer Administration and Finance, 608.785.8021.
