New Student
Orientation (NSO)

Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse!

New Student Orientation (NSO) is designed to provide the experiences and information for a successful transition to UWL. NSO & Welcome Week occur at the start of the fall semester and are designed to provide the experiences and information for a successful transition to UWL.

New Student Orientation is for all new students to UWL and offers a variety of programs, services, activities, and fun events designed to welcome and introduce students to all of the engagement opportunities at UWL. All new first-year students living on-or-off campus and transfer students living on-campus are included into an Eagle Group, which is led by an Eagle Guide who is an experienced UWL student leader. New students will be "guided" through their first few days on campus by our student "experts."

Off-campus transfer students are welcome to join NSO activities and have the option to separately sign up for an Eagle Guide Group.

Through New Student Orientation, there are plenty of opportunities to meet other new and returning students, find out ways to get involved, and prepare for the academic year!
