UWL Department of Music Auditions
These auditions are for musicians contemplating a music major or minor. They also fulfill consideration for Department scholarships. Each entrant should prepare two pieces of contrasting styles and tempos; vocalists should select one song in a foreign language.
For specific recommendations of suitable repertoire, please contact the Music Department. Generally, live auditions are generally preferred; if a campus visit does not work submit videos. You will be notified of the results of your audition within two weeks.
Important note: This is NOT an application for admission to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Please contact the Admissions Office at 608.785.8939 or visit the Admissions web site for information and application materials for admission to the University.

You may audition for admission the Department of Music prior to notification of admittance to the University.
Ensemble auditions
All UW-La Crosse students are welcome to audition for our many ensembles. These auditions take place on Labor Day weekend or the first week of the fall semester. If you are interested, complete the music information sheet at START, the freshman registration session in June. Directors will contact you with additional information on the auditions process for their ensemble and you can find more specific information under the Ensembles link on the left, and then navigate to Bands, Choirs, Jazz, Orchestra. As always, if you have questions, email the directors!
