Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you are dropping all your classes even if that’s only one class, then this is considered a withdrawal from the university and you must contact the Office of Student Life, studentlife@uwlax.edu, AND Amber Leibundgut-Peterson, aleibundgut-peterson@uwlax.edu. There may be a withdrawal fee assessed.
  • If you will remain enrolled in other classes, but need to withdraw from a class contact Amber Leibundgut-Peterson, aleibundgut-peterson@uwlax.edu.
  1. Satisfy dissertation, thesis, seminar paper, terminal/graduate projects and internships, or comprehensive examination, where applicable. A dissertation or thesis approved by the committee must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies for editorial review and approval by the Graduate Studies Director. The recommended initial submission date for review is two weeks before commencement. Ordinarily, a seminar paper or project report does not have to be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies. However, if the seminar paper or project report is to be archived in Murphy Library, the student must follow the same rules as they apply to the dissertation/thesis requiring approval from the Director of Graduate Studies. For further research/dissertation/thesis guidelines, see the Office of Graduate Studies.
  2. Apply for graduation immediately after registering for your final semester. Additional graduation information is available here.
  3. Pay the graduation fee and remove all other indebtedness to the university. Payment of graduation fees does not imply readiness for graduation and does not take the place of applying for graduation.
  4. Complete all requirements within 30 days after the official ending date of a term in order for a degree to be awarded for that term. (See #1 above for separate deadline for written capstone experience.)

As a UW-La Crosse (UWL) student you are subject to the same policies and have the same rights as any UWL student no matter which campus is responsible for your Information Technology Management class.
