Transfer students
We review every application using a comprehensive, holistic approach. In addition to your academic performance, we consider your extracurricular involvement, leadership, essays, and letters of recommendation.
Transfer Admission Considerations
Primary consideration: Academic preparation
- Cumulative GPA in transferable coursework
- 2.25 or higher cumulative GPA indicates a stronger candidate for admission
- 2.00-2.24 cumulative GPA may be considered for admission if space is available
Secondary considerations for holistic review:
- Non-academic factors such as leadership, extracurricular involvement, special talent, and letters of recommendation may strengthen your application
Transfer Eligibility
If you did not meet UWL's first-year admission requirements after graduating from high school, you need to complete at least 18 transferable semester credits (after graduating from high school) to be considered for admission to UWL as a transfer student.
