The UWL Carol Dobrunz Endowment Fund supports conference costs for non-tenured faculty or instructional academic staff (IAS) with a continuing appointment. The award may be used for conference related travel costs such as registration, airfare, car rental, mileage reimbursement, meals & incidentals, and lodging. 

To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be employed at UWL with at least a 75% appointment
  • Must be either a non-tenured faculty member or a member of instructional academic staff (IAS) with a continuing appointment
  • Must be attending a national conference within their discipline
  • May not have previously received this award

The amount of each award is determined based on the amount available from the Fund but will not exceed $1,000. To be eligible, the conference in the application must occur between July 1 and June 30 of the upcoming year.

  • No signatures are required.
  • Applicants should provide their chair/unit director and dean/division director with their proposal so that they may review it.
  • If you approve, communicate your approval (verbally, via email, etc.) to the applicant.
  • When the applicant uploads their proposal, they will initial in Digital Measures to indicate they have obtained the required approvals.
  • When the applicant submits their proposal, the chair/unit director and dean/division director will be CCed.
  • If you receive an email for a proposal that you have not seen and/or approved, you may contact the Provost Office at and request that the proposal be withdrawn from consideration.
