Funding Search Databases

  • Pivot ProquestFeatures funding opportunities for all disciplines, including federal and non-federal funding sources. Custom searches can be saved, and users can set-up automatic email alerts for their queries.
    • How to access: Set up individual user account.
  • GRC GrantSearch: Targeted database of approximately 2,000 funding opportunities that are recurring and have a national/regional scope. 
    • How to access: Use the institutional GRC log-in and password. Contact ORSP.
  • GRC Faculty Alerts: Set up customized funding alerts by disciplinary areas, activity types, and/or funding sponsors. Save one or multiple alerts and customize them as your project interests change. GRC will send you monthly email updates targeted to your criteria.
    • How to access: Use the institutional GRC log-in and password. Contact ORSP.
  • Grants.gov: Searchable database of all federal funding. Conduct basic or advanced searches by criteria such as keyword, organization type, project category, and/or sponsor. No log-in is required to search.
  • Foundations in Wisconsin: Provides a searchable directory of active, grant-making foundations in Wisconsin, including past grants, contact information, and areas of interest. 
    • How to access: UWL access is made available through the Murphy Library. Contact the Murphy reference desk with log-in issues.
  • H-Net: Humanities & Social Sciences Online: Free online forum for faculty in the humanities and social sciences to access a variety of information, including funding opportunities. No log-in is required.
