GRADUATE STUDENT FUNDING

The Graduate Education financial aid page provides an overview of everything from Graduate Assistant positions to federal loans. Each graduate program webpage provides financial aid information specific to their students.

Graduate & Extended Learning oversees the grant, scholarship and award opportunities listed below. Students planning to participate in these events should review our dates & deadlines.

  

Research, Service, & Educational Leadership (RSEL) Grant

UWL provides funding on a competitive basis to support graduate student Research, Service, and Educational Leadership (RSEL) projects.

Graduate students who are enrolled in an on-campus program are eligible to apply.

Professional Travel Grant

Funds provided by the Student Senate are allocated to support graduate students who present at regional and national conferences.

There are four professional travel application deadlines. Please apply for travel funds no sooner than three weeks prior to your conference date.

"Say it in 6" Scholarship Competition

Use your creativity to share your graduate experience with one image and 6 words!

This challenging competition tests your ability to communicate a message in a new way. Explore entries from past years and learn more about this fully online scholarship competition.

Students in any UWL graduate program may compete.

3 Minute Grad Project Scholarship Competition

This event challenges graduate students to present their grad project in a unique way.

Competitors must clearly present their ideas to engage an audience made up of the "general public" while adhering to a 3-minute time limit and using only a single PowerPoint slide.

Students from any program are encouraged to participate in the on-campus competition!

Student Awards

Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students in January for the Rosandich Thesis and Dissertation Award and the Graduate Student Academic Achievement Awards. Both awards recognize academic excellence among our students. 

Students must complete a thesis or dissertation to be considered for the Rosandich award. Students in any graduate program may be nominated for an Academic Achievement award.
