Two student organizations are active in the department and are open to sociology majors, minors or simply those with serious interests in sociology.

The Sociology/Social Issues Club

This club actively brings in speakers, hosting get-togethers between students and faculty, and other events. Meetings are held on Wednesdays. For more information contact Dr. Enilda Delgado at

Alpha Kappa Delta: International Sociological Honors Society

The other organization is the UWL Chapter Mu (yes. . .that's right. . .Mu) of AKD. This organization is open to sociology majors, minors and those with a serious interest in sociology. Requirements for induction include:

• Junior Standing or above;
• 3.25 G.P.A. Cumulative and in Sociology coursework; and, 
• 4 regular Sociology courses completed.
