Undergraduate Student Research Projects

Many students in the Department of Geography and Environmental Science engage in undergraduate research with faculty mentors. This valuable experience prepares students for careers and graduate school by applying concepts introduced in the classroom and through the development of new skillsets. Students can earn undergraduate research credit (GEO 499) and are often funded by undergraduate grants available at UWL or through research grants obtained by their faculty mentor. Students also typically present their findings at local, regional, or national conferences where they interact with other professionals in the field.
