College of Science & Health (CSH)

Student Research Grants

The College of Science & Health Research Grants serve as a crucial resource for students in the College of Science and Health, empowering them to actively engage in meaningful research experiences. These grants support students in covering essential costs associated with conducting their research, including purchasing specialized materials or equipment, and accessing research sites or laboratories. By providing financial assistance, the program ensures that students can fully immerse themselves in their field of study, gaining practical skills that complement their academic coursework. This hands-on involvement not only enhances their technical expertise but also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and professional development, all of which are vital for future careers in science and health-related disciplines.

Awards

Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, and both individual students and collaborative student teams are eligible to apply. Each proposal must adhere to the following funding limits:

  1. Students requesting funds for purchasing supplies, specialized materials, and equipment can receive up to $500
  2. Students requesting funds for travel to access research sites or laboratories can receive up to $750
  3. Students can receive up to $1,250 per proposal and may submit only 1 proposal per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer)

Individuals may receive a maximum of $1,500 in combined Student Research and Student Conference Travel Grant funding per academic year (July 1 – June 30). Fall and Spring awards must be used within the same academic year that the awards are distributed. Summer awards must be used by the end of the following Fall semester.
