The LRC is closed during Summer and Winter breaks. We reopen at the start of the second week of classes each Fall and Spring semester.

Mission of the LRC

The mission of the Language Resource Center is to promote intercultural competence and language learning at UWL. We work to connect, support, and empower students and faculty engaged in world language education and related disciplines. We provide the physical space, educational technology, and collaborative innovation to offer interactive and student-centered activities focusing on applied language use and cultural experiences.

Support our mission

Do you have skills or experience you'd like to put toward our mission? We are constantly looking for ways to build connections within our campus community and beyond. If so, please reach out by contacting our director, Dane DeVetter.

Here are a few ideas for ways to get involved, but don't let them limit your creativity.

  • Volunteer as a Conversation Partner
  • Host at conversation table at the LRC or elsewhere
  • Enroll in a language course (start early to maximize proficiency)
  • Contribute to our language learning tips and best practices
  • Tell us about your language learning journey
  • Share your study abroad experience
  • Complete our alumni survey
