Transfer Connections

Transfer Connections is a new program that launched in the fall of 2024. Transfer student numbers are increasing nationwide and we're paying close attention to the unique needs of this population in an effort to increase retention rates and help them succeed at UWL.
Transfer Connections is designed to provide incoming students with a supportive environment where you can meet other multicultural students, have a tailored experience, and become engaged on campus. Learning a new campus can be intimidating. The program provides:
- Peer Connectors
- Advising Support (tailored to your needs)
- Connection to other students and events on campus
Students are matched with a "Connector" who is a fellow UWL student who may share similar experiences and challenges related to their respective identities. Their connector checks in periodically with them to see how they're doing, answer questions, provide information about campus and community resources, etc. Students are also invited to social events to help build community among fellow transfer students, their connectors, and OMSS staff.
