Music Listening Lab

Due to COVID-19, our physical office is closed. However, all classes will be held online and instructors and staff are working remotely. We recommend email or Canvas to reach instructors and email or phone for departmental business.

Marching Band: Please ensure that you have enrolled in the appropriate course in WINGS (freshmen enroll in MUS 100). If you have not done so already, please register at www.uwlax.edu/semb as soon as possible. This will ensure that you receive information regarding band camp.

Jazz Ensembles: Please ensure that you have enrolled in the appropriate course in WINGS (freshmen enroll in MUS 134). All enrolled students received an email from Dr. Erickson with audition information and materials - please email jerickson@uwlax.edu if you did not receive the email or have questions.

Wind Ensemble: Please ensure that you have enrolled in the appropriate course in WINGS (freshmen enroll in MUS 140). All enrolled students will receive an email regarding the audition process/excerpts by August 10.

Orchestra: Please ensure that you have enrolled in the appropriate course in WINGS (freshmen enroll in MUS 156). All enrolled students will receive an email regarding the audition process/excerpts by August 10.

Concert Choir: Please ensure that you have enrolled in the appropriate course in WINGS (freshmen enroll in MUS 106). All enrolled students will receive an email regarding the audition process by August 10.

The Listening Lab is located in Room 124 CFA. Regular hours are posted during the Fall and Spring academic semesters. Weekend hours are sometimes available through the week of finals and special events.

NOTE: hours may be adjusted due to changes in available workers to supervise the lab. Hours will be posted as accurately as possible.

Items in the Listening Lab include the following:

  • Instrument Loan (Checking out an instrument to play in an ensemble)
  • Locker Checkout/Rental
  • Checkout for MUS and MUA course listening materials
  • Computer Lab to complete theory and composition assignments
  • Tickets for special events (reserved seating/suggested donation)
  • Music Library: CD/DVD/VHS collection
  • Access to recordings of Ensemble Concerts and Student Recitals
