Murder on the Orient Express
Adapted by Ken Ludwig

Last Train to Nibroc
By Arlene Hutton
Directed by Nic Barilar
Last Train to Nibroc is a simple, honest and genuine play about a young man and woman who meet on a train at the beginning of World War II. Raleigh has just been discharged from the military due to his epilepsy, while May is returning from a disappointing visit with her fiancé on leave in California. After May grudgingly allows Raleigh to sit next to her, it kicks off a love story that runs the length of the war. The two come to find out that they grew up in neighboring small towns in Kentucky. May is returning to hers, but Raleigh is taking the train all the way to New York City. There, he dreams of becoming a writer, much like recently deceased F. Scott Fitzgerald and Nathanael West — who are in the baggage car.

The Secret in the Wings
By Mary Zimmerman
Directed by Greg Parmeter
Mary Zimmerman’s The Secret in the Wings adapts a group of lesser-known fairy tales to create a theatrical work that sets their dark mystery against her signature wit and humor. The play opens as a married couple leave their young daughter, Heidi, with the babysitter for the evening as they head out to a party. The couple sees a genial, avuncular babysitter, but Heidi sees a hideous ogre with a spiny tail who has obvious plans to devour her.

Dragons Love Tacos--SOLD OUT!

Dragons love tacos. They love chicken tacos, beef tacos, great big tacos, and teeny tiny tacos. So, if you want to lure a bunch of dragons to your party, you should definitely serve tacos. Buckets and buckets of tacos. Unfortunately, where there are tacos, there is also salsa. And if a dragon accidentally eats spicy salsa…oh, boy! You’re in red-hot trouble.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Music and Lyrics by David Yazbek

After meeting on a train, they unsuccessfully attempt to work together only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress Christine Colgate, wins and the other must leave town.

Digital Programs
Beginning Fall 2022, the UWL Department of Theatre and Dance will transition to digital programs. In an effort to reduce waste and reduce our carbon footprint, we will no longer be offering printed programs for any theatre production. But, don't worry...you'll be able to access the program online!
Accessing Show Programs
When you arrive at the theatre, there will be postings with a QR code in the lobby and as you enter the theatre. You simply scan this code with your phone's camera to access the online program.
Benefits to Patrons
Programs will be mobile-friendly, will be available sooner, and will be archived on our website. Programs can also be accessed before and after the production on your laptop or computer.
Using mobile devices during shows?
We strongly encourage patrons to view the programs before the start of the performance, during intermission, or when the performance concludes. As always, cell phones are distracting to the actors and other patrons, so viewing the programs before or after the production is ideal.
Will we return to printed programs?
The short answer is probably not. While there still may be special instances where print programs are needed, the UWL Department of Theatre and Dance is committed to providing this digital platform to our patrons in order to be more environmentally friendly and encourage sustainable business practices.
