Microbiology scholarships
Relocation
Due to the demolition of Cowley Hall and construction of Prairie Springs Science Center Phase II, the Microbiology Department will be temporarily relocated to 404 Wimberly Hall. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Department of Microbiology offers ten scholarships, totaling over $12,000, to Microbiology majors and Clinical Laboratory Science students each year. Previous years Scholarship awardees are listed below.

| Walter & Neva Dayl Winfrey Memorial Microbiology Scholarship | Microbiology major; Junior or Senior with a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Robert M. Burns Scholarship in Medical Microbiology | Microbiology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken Pathogenic microbiology and have a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Microbiology/Public Health Scholarship | Microbiology major; must demonstrate interest in Immunology or Public Health and have a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Larry Trammell Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship | Microbiology major; must have worked in the microbiology prep room for at least one year |
| Pam Benzing Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship | Microbiology major; above average GPA; must have worked in the microbiology prep room for at least one year |
| Allen Nelson Mycology Scholarship | Microbiology or Biology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken at least one mycology course and/or done research in mycology |

Microbiology majors are also eligible for many other Science and Health Scholarships as well as General University Scholarships. The application process for these scholarships, as well as the microbiology scholarships listed above, are coordinated by the UWL Foundation. They have an on-line system for searching and applying for UWL scholarships. They also have an external scholarship database that you can search for additional scholarships for which you may be eligible.
