Access WINGS

As an admitted student, you will access your WINGS Student Center to complete many of the Next Steps in the process of becoming an Eagle.

  • Pay your Enrollment Deposit
  • Update personal information
  • Access your financial aid package
  • Access your transfer credit report

Secure your spot

To reserve your place in our freshman class, log in to WINGS and submit your $100 enrollment deposit. Contact Admissions to request a deposit deferral due to financial hardship before the deposit deadline.

Deadline: May 1
Deposits submitted after May 1 will be accepted on a space-available basis.

How to Submit Your Deposit

  1. Log in to your WINGS Student Center
  2. Under Finances, select Make a Deposit/Payment
  3. Select Make a Payment from top menu
  4. Select Enrollment Deposit
  5. Select the term you will enter college (i.e., Enrollment Deposit Fall 2027)
  6. Complete payment (use e-check to avoid convenience fees)

Apply for housing

Within a couple of days of submitting your enrollment deposit, you'll gain access to the housing portal. Watch your email and mail for instructions on how to apply for on-campus housing

Housing assignments are prioritized based on your housing deposit submission date.

Maintain your academic progress

As a future Eagle, we encourage you to make the most of your senior year and continue preparing for success in college. Your UWL admission is contingent upon meeting the following conditions: 

  • Course Schedule: You submitted your senior year course schedule as part of your application. Any changes to your schedule must be pre-approved by Admissions to maintain your admission status.
  • Academic Performance: Maintain your class rank and/or cumulative GPA.
  • Final Official Transcript: Submit your final official high school transcript after graduation.

SENIOR YEAR SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUEST PROCESS

  • Email the following information to admissions@uwlax.edu: 
    • Your full name and date of birth or student ID
    • Course(s) name you would like to drop
    • Course(s) name you would like to add to replace the dropped course
    • Reason for the schedule change
  • Allow five business days for review. You will receive a decision confirmation by email.
  • Please do not make changes to your senior year schedule prior to Admissions approval.

Register for START

STudent Advising, Registration, and Transition (START) is a required, on-campus registration program for incoming students held in June. Registration to select a START date opens the first week in April. 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 31
Students who have not registered for START by this deadline may not be able to attend UWL in the fall semester.

Complete placement testing

Universities of Wisconsin online placement tests are required for all new UWL students, regardless of previous credit earned. Review the registration and testing process details for UWL's required tests.

Testing should be completed before May 15
Results must be submitted and processed before class registration. Students without scores on file will not be able to enroll in specific courses at registration and may have to wait until scores are submitted to complete registration.

Submit final transcripts

Final High School Transcript

Request a final official high school transcript (with confirmation of graduation) be sent directly from your high school to Admissions.

DEADLINE: June 30
Submission of a final transcript is an enrollment requirement.

Visit Credit for Prior Learning for information on submitting documentation to receive credit for a variety of university-level learning and assessments, including:

  • Credit by national exam (AP, IB, CLEP)
  • Transfer coursework credit
  • UWL administered prior learning assessments
  • Military experience and training
  • Industry-certified and assessed credentials or licensures
