In order to live in our residence halls, you MUST be a full-time student at UWL. If you are unsure of your admission status, please check with the UWL Admissions office: uwlax.edu/admissionsPLEASE NOTE: You will need to pay the $100 enrollment deposit, then wait up to 48 hours before paying the $75 housing deposit. After that time, you will be able to access the housing application.

Step 2: Learn About the UWL Residence Halls

Please take a look at The Residence Hall section of our website to learn about the similarities and differences of our UWL Residence Halls.

Here are some sample questions to answer as you look at these pages:

    1. Where is the hall located on campus as compared to your classrooms, Whitney Dining Center, the student union, etc?
    2. What is the student composition of the hall? New students, upper-class students, international, or mixed?

If a room has only 2 people in it, the housing rate will be adjusted to the normal double room rate for each student. (This also applies to rooms housing two people who go down to one person occupying that space.) Please see specific room ratesThis will be prorated based on the date of the occupancy change.

Instructions on room self-selection:

We have received your housing application for the 2017-18 academic year. Starting next week sign up for a specific room space will occur.  Below you will find specific dates and information about the room sign up process.

Step One: Ensure you are part of a verified roommate group. If you wish to choose roommates yourself, ideally a group of 6 if wanting to live in Eagle Hall, to ensure you have the best chances at securing a space. The designated group leader must verify the group prior to selecting a suite. That can happen now.

Step Two: If you do not have a roommate group and want one, continue to look for others through the Housing Application Roommate Search to find other individuals who are seeking roommates.

Step Three: Group leaders ONLY. Sign up at the appropriate time indicated below that is based on hall preference and who is part of your group.

To Complete the Sign Up:

Go to WINGS, wings.uwlax.edu

Select the "UW-La Crosse" dropdown at the top left of the screen.

Select the "Residence Life" dropdown at the top left of the screen.

Select the "Housing Application" link.

At the new screen, select the "Housing Application" link.

Eagle Hall and Reuter Hall Waiting List

You can sign up to be on the waiting list for either hall by following the instructions in the application if you are unable to secure a space. You must also sign up for housing if you wish to live on campus next year, even if you cannot find a space that meets your first preference request.  Please understand that we cannot predict when openings may occur.  If a space becomes available, you will be contacted through your UWL email.  You will have a short time to respond to the email to finalize your move into that space.  We may have a full suite available (although this is unlikely), or we may have room for a smaller group or an individual.

ALL students interested in being on the waiting list must sign up (not just the roommate leader).  If you indicated (a) roommate preference(s), they must also sign up here AND indicate you as a roommate preference.  “Roommate Groups” formed in the original housing application will not be considered when we pull people from the waiting list.

No longer planning on living on campus?

If you no longer wish to live in the halls, please email Carol Beckerjeck at cbeckerjeck@uwlax.edu to notify her so you can get your deposit refunded. Cancel by May 1st to receive a full refund of your deposit.
