Contract and application process

Welcome to the housing contract and application process for 2019-20.

Step 1: Confirm your admission and enrollment at UWL

In order to live in the residence halls, you MUST be a full-time student at UWL. If you are unsure of your admission status, please check with the UWL Admissions Office. You will need to pay the $100 enrollment deposit. After 48 hours, you will be able to access the housing contract and application.

Step 2: Learn about the UWL residence halls

Please take a look at the residence hall information on our website to learn about the similarities and differences of our residence halls. Review the room rates.

Step 3: Complete your housing contract and application

Follow these instructions to begin your housing contract and application:

  • Go to the housing portal and log in using your UWL username and password
  • Select "Contract/Application" on the maroon navigation bar
  • Review and agree to the housing contract terms and conditions
  • Pay the $150 housing deposit
  • Review your application & submit

This is a legally binding contract that cannot be cancelled without penalty after May 1, 2019 if you attend UW-La Crosse during the academic year 2019-20.

If you cancel after May 1, you forfeit the $150 housing deposit.

Step 4: Update your application

You may update your application to change residence hall preferences and roommate preferences by returning to the housing portal.

This will not affect your original completed contract and application date.

Step 5: Housing assignments

Housing assignments will be sent out by email in June. They will include room and roommate assignments. Assignments are prioritized based on completed contract and application dates.

If you have questions, please email the Office of Residence Life or call 608.785.8075.

Eagle Hall room rates expanding section

Important:

Eagle Hall rooms are extended housing and accommodate three students due to the demand for on-campus housing. Students who live in an Eagle room with two other people have their normal room rate reduced each semester. If a room has only 2 people in it, the housing rate will be adjusted to the normal double room rate for each student. (This also applies to rooms with two people who go down to one person occupying that space.) Please see specific room rates. This will be prorated based on the date of the occupancy change.

The Summer Housing 2019 contract and application will be available in Spring 2019. If you have questions, please email the Office of Residence Life  or call 608.785.8075.

For winter break 2018-19 all residence halls at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse will remain open. Students who have lived on campus for fall 2018 and are returning for spring 2019 simply need to complete the winter break housing sign-up on the housing portal in order to participate.

Whether you need to stay in your residence hall a little later in December or would like to return to campus before the end of winter break, this is the option that you will need to sign-up for.

If you want to stay on campus any time between December 20, 2018 and January 25, 2019 you will need to sign-up for winter break housing.

How to sign-up for winter break housing:

  1. Log into the housing portal.
  2. Click on “Winter Break & Early Arrival Housing” in the maroon navigation bar.
  3. Review winter break housing information and rates.
  4. Indicate the dates you need to stay over winter break.
  5. Complete the sign-up and receive a confirmation email.

Students should complete the sign-up at least one business day ahead of their stay on campus. Additional details about winter break housing are included within the sign-up process.
