Microbiology scholarships
The Department of Microbiology offers ten scholarships, totaling over $12,000, to Microbiology majors and Clinical Laboratory Science students each year. Previous years Scholarship awardees are listed below.

Microbiology major; Sophomore, Junior, or Senior |
| Walter & Neva Dayl Winfrey Memorial Microbiology Scholarship | Microbiology major; Junior or Senior with a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Robert M. Burns Scholarship in Medical Microbiology | Microbiology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken Pathogenic microbiology and have a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Microbiology Public Health Scholarship | Microbiology major; must demonstrate interest in Immunology or Public Health and have a GPA of at least 3.25 |
| Larry Trammell Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship | Microbiology major; must have worked in the microbiology prep room for at least one year |
| Allen Nelson Mycology Scholarship | Microbiology or Biology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken at least one mycology course and/or done research in mycology |
| Grace Smith Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarship | Clinical Laboratory Science major; Junior or Senior |
| Diane L. Sewell Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarship | Clinical Laboratory Science major |
Microbiology majors are also eligible for many other Science and Health Scholarships as well as General University Scholarships. The application process for these scholarships, as well as the microbiology scholarships listed above, are coordinated by the UWL Foundation. They have an on-line system for searching and applying for UWL scholarships. They also have an external scholarship database that you can search for additional scholarships for which you may be eligible.
