Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Navigating the cost of college can be challenging, but support is available every step of the way. From managing money and finding scholarships to connecting with knowledgeable counselors who can break things down, a wide range of resources is in place to help make the financial side of college less stressful—and more manageable. Visit the Financial Aid homepage for additional information.

It Make$ Cents! is UWL’s financial literacy program designed to address the unique financial challenges students face during college. The program empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to build and maintain lifelong financial well-being. Through workshops and one-on-one consultations, students gain practical insights on budgeting, credit, scholarships, and strategies for affording college.

The Scholarship Resource Center is the go-to place for discovering scholarship opportunities and getting support throughout the application process. Students can schedule appointments with a peer mentor for personalized guidance—from finding scholarships to completing applications with confidence.

Received an outside scholarship? Reporting it can be confusing, but this quick video tutorial walks through the steps to notify the Financial Aid Office.

Student Health Center

The UWL Student Health Center, operated by Mayo Clinic Health System, provides convenient on-campus access to high-quality healthcare services—including primary care, same-day appointments, and physical therapy. The center is committed to meeting the unique health and wellness needs of students at UWL and Western.

Counseling and Testing

Counseling and Testing

Our mission is to promote students’ emotional, academic, social, and cultural growth through counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach within an atmosphere of confidentiality and inclusivity. To meet the needs of UWL and the region, we provide comprehensive testing services that adhere to nationally recognized standards.

Finding the right kind of care can feel overwhelming—but the Where to Start page offers guidance on identifying the most appropriate support for each situation. In urgent situations, the Crisis Resources page connects students with immediate, critical help when it’s needed most. Students can also utilize this Mental Health Screening tool. This free, anonymous, brief mental health survey for students to learn the severity of their mental health concerns as compared to other college students & receive a recommendation for support.

ID Card and Dining Services

ID Card and Dining Services

The Student Union and Whitney Dining Center offer a wide variety of dining choices to suit any schedule—whether it's a sit-down meal or something quick on the go. Multiple dining venues across campus provide flexible and convenient options throughout the day.

For menus and locations during the school year, download the Dine On Campus app.

The GET Mobile app is used to create a student’s digital Eagle ID, and manage accounts related to dining and Campus Cash. GET Mobile allows students to view Campus Cash balances, monitor meals left for the week and report a lost or stolen Eagle ID. Parents and guardians can also use GET Mobile to deposit funds directly into student accounts.

The COVE

Center for Organizations, Vision, and Engagement (The COVE)

The COVE is the central hub for student organizations and leadership opportunities at UWL. With over 200 student organizations on campus, there’s something for every interest—whether the goal is to meet new people, develop leadership skills, or simply get involved.

This welcoming space is designed for students to connect, ask questions, and explore involvement opportunities. The COVE also offers a relaxed environment to study or hang out with friends, complete with conference rooms, computer and printing stations, and fully stocked supply cupboards.

Located on the second floor of the Student Union (Room 2200), the COVE is the place to discover everything student involvement has to offer.
