Wellness & Health Advocacy offers a unique inventory of health education programs. Our programs can be requested by Residence Life staff, instructors, registered student organizations, club sports teams, athletic teams, and other campus groups.

If you don't see what you're looking for, email wellness@uwlax.edu and we will work with you to create something new! After requesting a program, you will be connected with the Student Wellness Coordinator and the Peer Health Advocates to discuss program details.

Sexual Health and Consent

Condom Bingo 

Condom Bingo is a fun, trivia-style program designed to increase students' knowledge and confidence in sexual health.We will educate students about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraceptives and STI prevention, healthy relationships, consent and communication, and sexual/reproductive anatomy. Drop-in format is not recommended for this program.

Pizza and Consent

We will educate students on active consent through the metaphor of creating and sharing a pizza together. The program requestor will need to supply pizza (typically ordered from Chartwells). Drop-in format is not recommended for this program.

Bystander Intervention Training

Facilitated by Violence Prevention

We will educate students about barriers to being an active bystander and the steps of bystander intervention. This program includes an opportunity for students to practice their new skills and work through several scenarios together. Drop-in format is not recommended for this program.

Consent is Key

Facilitated by Violence Prevention

This program is a collaborative exploration of all things consent! Students will anonymously contribute their ideas to several discussion questions related to defining, obtaining, and identifying consent. Drop-in format is not recommended for this program.

Substance Use

Alcohol Skills 

Students will participate in hands-on activities designed to learn and practice alcohol safety and harm reduction techniques. This program features drunk goggles, standard pour practice, trivia, and free resources. Drop-in format is recommended.

Drunk Goggle Mario Kart

You bring the Mario Kart, we'll bring the goggles! After the Peer Health Advocates share a quick presentation to help participants understand blood alcohol concentration, students can play while wearing our drunk goggles. The Peer Health Advocates will remain on site with free resources and other activities for those waiting to play. The requestor is responsible for setting up Mario Kart; we recommend scheduling 2 hours for this program.

Narcan Training 

This training provides participants with the knowledge and skills to identify a possible overdose, respond by administering Narcan, and intervene as an active bystander. The program explores harm reduction and on-campus resources.

Drinks & Cliques

This program is designed to educate students on local drinking culture and the risks of alcohol consumption. Students will participate in an engaging activity focused on decision-making, identifying values, and combating peer pressure. Drop-in format is not recommended.

Alcohol Safety and Bystander Intervention Training

This training is designed to provide students with basic alcohol education, opportunities for reflection on their own drinking behaviors, and information about bystander intervention. Students demonstrate what they've learned by responding to several scenarios. This program is best suited for organized student groups (i.e. athletic teams, greek life, student organizations, etc.) and drop-in format is not recommended.

Mental Health

Mental Health 101

This program is your one-stop-shop for learning about mental health! Mental Health 101 covers stress and anxiety, burnout, setting boundaries, self-care, mindfulness, and campus resources. Skills practice is mixed with education from the Peer Health Advocates, so drop-in format is not recommended.

Mental Health Bingo

Mental health is how we think, feel, and act. Mental Health Bingo explores ways to understand and manage mental health; this trivia-style bingo program provides mental health quick facts in a casual setting. Drop-in format is not recommended.

Brain Break

This program provides students with guided activities to support mental health and well-being. Activities provided include mindfulness, Buddha Boards, mandala coloring, guided meditation, journaling exercises, and more. Drop-in format is recommended.

Wellness Program Stamp Cards

At a campus event with Wellness & Health Advocacy? Don't forget to have the PHAs stamp your program card! Every 6 stamps will earn you one entry to our giveaway pool. Winners will be drawn at the end of each semester, in December and May. Drop off your completed stamp card in 149 Graff Main Hall.
