Wellness Week, October 5-9, 2026, is the perfect opportunity to dedicate a little extra time to your health and well-being. Follow the official campaign on Instagram to learn about resources and opportunities to participate.

We can practice wellness every week with these helpful tips:
- Dedicate time to your mental health by practicing stress management techniques, exploring mindfulness, or seeking support.
- Enhance your physical well-being by trying a new form of exercise, taking a break from alcohol and other drugs, or making a healthy meal.
- Support your academic and career well-being by staying caught up on assignments or exploring new opportunities.
- Celebrate your spiritual wellness by attending a religious service or spending time in nature.

Monday: Mindfulness and Balance
Movie Monday with Campus Activities Board
- Union Theater at 7pm
Money Matters with It Makes Cents
- Murphy Library Room 121 at 12pm
Pickleball Rally & Relax with REC Sports
- Hetzel Fieldhouse at 6pm
- Grab a paddle and get ready to rally! Come play casual pickleball, rotate partners every 15 minutes, and meet some new people along the way. A free, low-pressure way to get moving, make friends, and take a break during Wellness Week!
Tuesday: Finances and Basic Needs
Howie’s Bingo with It Makes Cents
- Howie’s at 8pm
- Learn about It Makes Cents, play bingo, and win prizes (must 21+)!
Intro to Mindfulness with Issy
- 3125 Union, 4-5pm
- Register for the 4-week course by October 4.
Don’t Get Sidelined: Injury Prevention for Everyday Athletes with REC Sports
- REC Lobby, 2:30-4:30pm
- Want to stay active without getting sidelined? Stop by our injury prevention table for quick, practical tips to help keep your body moving and feeling its best! Learn simple ways to reduce your risk of common aches and overuse injuries like shin splints, while picking up easy stretches, mobility programs, and strengthening exercises you can incorporate into your everyday routine. Whether you’re a runner, gym-goer, recreational athlete, or just trying to be more active, come on by! No workout clothes are required.
Walk with Officer Bear and University Police
- Meet in the REC Lobby at 4pm
- Join Officer Bear, UWL’s police dog, for a fun and relaxed walk around campus! Get moving, enjoy some fresh air, and spend time with one of UWL’s favorite four-legged campus community members.
Hammock & S'mores Hangout with REC Sports
- Between Wing & Centennial Hall, 4-6pm
- Come hang out with Outdoor Connection to de-stress and find your balance by spending intentional time in nature. Roast marshmallows and sway in a hammock while enjoying connection and community.
Wednesday: Fitness and Nutrition
Women’s Soccer vs UW-River Falls
- Roger Harring Stadium Track, Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex at 6pm
Feel Good Foods with Chartwells
- Whitney Center, 11am-1pm
- Sample Mushroom Crostini and discover how nutritious foods can also be flavorful, satisfying, and easy to enjoy. Pick up simple ideas for incorporating feel-good food into your everyday routine.
Fueling for Performance with Chartwells
- REC Fitness Center, 3:30-5:15pm
- Learn how to fuel your body for energy, recovery, and peak performance. Stop by and explore practical nutrition strategies for before, during, and after activity. Pick up tips you can use to support your workouts and overall well-being!
Pause & Flow with REC Sports
- Drake Field at 5pm
- Step outside and take time to reset with an experience that blends guided mindfulness, gentle yoga, and intentional movement in the outdoors. Slow down, reconnect with your body and surroundings, and leave feeling more grounded, present, and refreshed. No experience necessary; mats provided. Free and open to drop-ins.
