The UWL Admissions Office follows the Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission established by the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC). As part of the principles established in this guide, members agree that they will provide comprehensive, truthful, and factual information that will allow all parties to make informed decisions.
Members should:
- Accurately describe, represent, and promote their schools, institutions, organizations, and services to students and to colleagues and should not misrepresent themselves or their institutions.
- Share information about students that is relevant to the college admission process as well as accurate, up-to-date, and free from misrepresentations of fact or material omissions at the time of submission.
- Ensure that alumni/ae representatives and interviewers, third party agents, vendors and other representatives working on their behalf follow the ethical best practices of the profession.
- When publishing translations, ensure that the translation fully and accurately reflects the meaning of the text in the original language.
- Promote ethical practices in relation to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). NACAC encourages continued learning and collaboration to ensure that any use of AI in counseling and admission aligns with our shared values of transparency, integrity, fairness, and respect for student dignity.
