Submit your 2026–27 FAFSA® Form!
The 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now available to complete on studentaid.gov
Need to complete the 2025-26 FAFSA?
The 2025-26 FAFSA covers Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026. You can still complete the 2025-26 FAFSA on studentaid.gov. Be sure to select the correct year.
How To Prepare for the 2026–27 FAFSA® Form
Here are some tips to help you complete the 2026–27 FAFSA form as soon possible:
- Create a StudentAid.gov account (if you don’t already have one).
- Learn about the documents you may need to fill out the FAFSA form.
- Determine your dependency status and whether your parent(s) or spouse will be required to contribute information on your FAFSA form.
- If you’re a dependent student, use the Who’s My FAFSA Parent? wizard to identify which parent(s) will be a required contributor on your form.
My FAFSA still says "Processing," what do I do?
At this time, 2025-2026 FAFSAs are being processed at the normal 1-3 business day timeline. Once the application is processed, you'll get a FAFSA submission summary e-mail.
What if I need to make a correction to my FAFSA?
You have the ability to make corrections to your FAFSA. You can log on to your studentaid.gov dashboard to make corrections as needed. Visit the Federal Student Aid FAFSA Corrections website.
Or watch a video on student corrections or contributor (parent/spouse) corrections.
What if I have issues creating an FSA ID or submitting my FAFSA?
If you have issues creating your FSA ID or submitting your FAFSA application, please contact Federal Student Aid.
(Tip: You can generally reach a representative faster by using the Aidan® chat feature)
I completed my FAFSA, does UWL have it?
Once your FAFSA is processed, you'll get your FAFSA Submission Summary via email. You will also be able to see this status on your studentaid.gov dashboard. This indicates that full processing has been achieved by Federal Student Aid (for initial transactions), so within a few business days UWL should get your FAFSA. Once we have your FAFSA you will get an e-mail stating we've received it.
Watch your To-Do list in WINGS and your e-mail for any additional information or documents we may need or notification that your aid offer is ready.
