Collections
The Alice Hagar Curriculum Center supports the education curriculum of the School of Education and any children's and young adult literature courses taught at the UWL. Priority is given to materials which most directly support course work preparing students to meet requirements of education degrees and credentials. The collection development policy is coordinated with the main library's collection development policy and mission of service.
In conjunction with UWL's mission of inclusivity and belonging, the center provides a growing multicultural collection that reflects the values of cultural diversity and promotes respect and appreciation for all cultures, perspectives and the global community.

Items are regularly withdrawn based on current library policies. Older items of historical or research value may be kept if space and budgets allow. For donations, contact the curriculum collection librarian or the Collection Development Librarian. Only donations that meet selection criteria of the Alice Hagar Curriculum Center development policy will be accepted. Materials with multiple components will be accepted only if complete.
Mission Statement
The Alice Hagar Curriculum Center's primary mission is to provide services, instruction, and resources that support the instructional programs of the School of Education, UW-La Crosse as well as to the La Crosse education community.
The Alice Hagar Curriculum Center strives to maintain sustainable relevance and inclusivity in services, instruction, and resources to adapt to the changing environment of the 21st century and the information literacy needs of students, faculty, and professionals in the field of Education.
Who was Alice Hagar?
The Alice Hagar Curriculum Center is named for Alice Hagar, who taught children's literature and was the Campus School librarian from 1947 to 1973. After the close of the Campus School in 1973, Ms. Hagar was instrumental in the development of the Curriculum Center in the School of Education.
