A page within Murphy Library

Why a librarian?
Reference librarians can help you effectively utilize the information resources, tools, and services of Murphy Library and beyond, and save you time in the process!

Use the form below to request a research consultation appointment with a librarian.

  • Research Consultations provide an opportunity to meet with a librarian for in-depth and highly-personalized information research assistance. Meetings are typically 30 to 60 minutes in length.

  • Before you complete this form, note that there are several other ways to ask a librarian a question more quickly and easily, no appointment necessary.

    • Students doing research for a 100-level class (CST110, ENG110, etc.):
Please consider visiting us at the reference desk in the library instead of requesting a research consultation appointment.

  • Once you complete the form, you will hear back from a librarian via email. You will then work with that librarian to schedule your meeting.

  • Meetings will be held at the library or online, or in faculty/staff offices.

  • This service is offered to UWL students, faculty, staff, and retirees. It is also offered to users of the Federal and Wisconsin government depository library programs.
