Reference services

Reference librarians can help you find the information you need for your research, and save you time in the process!

From March 30, 2020: How to contact a reference librarian from Murphy Library:

  • Chat with Librarian
Contact a reference librarian online by clicking on the link on the Murphy Library web site. (weekdays and Sunday afternoons)
  • Ask-A-Librarian
Ask us a question via web form or email, and we'll email you back.
  • Individual Research Consultations
We offer individual appointments with a reference librarian via telephone or videoconference for more extensive and personalized research assistance.

We maintain particular expertise in the 200+ databases, 860+ e-books, and 5300+ books that make up the Murphy Library reference collection, and we are happy to assist you in taking advantage of these powerful, time-saving tools. Click here to see the latest additions to the reference collection!

We can also teach you how to find relevant and appropriate information resources and use the services of the entire library.

Beyond that, we can help you navigate and utilize the whole world of information resources that's available to you here at UWL.

We're eager to help you!
